We would like to believe that our breeding program has come to the point that all the kids
produced will excel both in the milk pail and in the show ring. As with any endeavor
involving livestock, that just isn't so. Breeding goats or any livestock is nothing more than
a well calculated gamble. Sometimes the combination is a hit, sometimes not so much.
It has been our goal to produce healthy, structurally correct, long lived animals that will
also provide milk for the family.
We will be as honest as possible with our evaluations and do our best to help you decide
what animal will fit into your breeding program.
Our kids are reserved on a first come basis and we will only accept 2 reservations per doe.
We give considerations to those who participate in DHI and One Day Milk Tests. The
more information we gather on our animals the easier it is to plan for future breedings.
To keep our numbers manageable we must sell some of the kids and occasionally older
animals. We do our best to ensure all our animals are healthy. Once an animal leaves our
property and control we cannot guarantee their health. We do guarantee and will replace
a kid if it should develop a disqualifying fault, once the registration papers are returned.
We reserve the right to keep any kid out of any breeding. We also reserve the right to
replace a reserved kid with another if it does not meet our standards.
We have not insisted on deposits in the past for a reservation on one of our kids. This
year we are. A $50 non-refundable deposit will be required on all kids reserved. Kids will
be bottle fed starting at 2-3 weeks old and will be ready to go to their new homes at 8
weeks old. Kids must be paid for in full prior to leaving the ranch, along with any health
cert, crates, or other services buyer requires. Kids must leave property within 14 days of
purchase or there will be a $1 per day boarding fee until animal leaves property unless
prior arrangements have been made.
It is the buyers responsibility to make arrangements for shipping. You have several
options,
1) pick up here,
2) we will transport to Reno International airport
3) we will meet you within a 4 hour radius for a nominal fee
4) or we can bring to a show we are attending,
Pet Edge has a Distribution Center in Reno, if you need to purchase a crate for shipping
we can pick it up at the store for you or you may send us one of yours.
Reno International Airport is the closest airport. We will not charge to take animal to
airport if shipped during the week.
We test our breeding age animals (over the age of 6 months) for CAE, CL and Johnes.
We have tested negative for several years on all tests. Copies are available.
